October 21-23, 2024 | Campus for Learning & Innovation
LORMA College of Psychology proudly hosted Psych Week 2024, a three-day celebration filled with activities that promoted mental health awareness, self-reflection, and innovative learning. Held from October 21 to 24 at the Campus for Learning & Innovation, the event embraced the theme of “New Beginnings,” inviting students and faculty from all departments to engage in meaningful experiences.
The event featured a wide range of interactive stations and activities designed to inspire creativity and foster community engagement. Attendees explored sensory games, enjoyed the nail painting station, and gained deeper insights into mental health through a psychological disorder exhibit. Photobooths were set up to capture memories, allowing participants to take fun mementos from the week.
Each day was filled with exciting opportunities for students and faculty to learn, express, and grow. Memory games sharpened cognitive skills, while movie screenings encouraged discussions on mental health themes. A poetry-making contest provided an outlet for emotional expression, and the highlight of the week—the Quiz Bee—brought friendly competition, testing participants' knowledge on psychological concepts.
One of the most touching activities was the "Letters to Future Selves" station, where participants reflected on their personal journeys and penned words of encouragement for the future. This thoughtful activity encapsulated the event’s theme of new beginnings, reminding participants of the importance of self-compassion and continuous growth.
Psych Week 2024 was more than just an academic event—it was a celebration of creativity, community, and mental well-being. By opening its doors to all departments, the College of Psychology emphasized the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and the need to make mental health awareness a shared priority.
Their collective efforts brilliantly highlighted the seamless blend of learning, creativity, and mental health, cultivating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere that champions well-being across the campus.
