Leadership Day at LORMA Colleges marked a meaningful gathering of reflection, direction, and shared commitment as the institution honored the 93rd birth anniversary of its founder, Dr. Rufino L. Macagba Jr. The occasion celebrated not only a legacy of service and vision but also the enduring values that continue to shape LORMA’s identity and mission.

Held this second semester, Leadership Day brought together LORMA’s academic and administrative leaders for the first time to align on the Four Foundational Pillars of the institution. Guided by Vice President Dr. Edwin C. Cancino, the dialogue fostered clarity, collaboration, and renewed purpose as leaders strengthened a unified direction for the semester and beyond.


Blessed with new beginnings at the San Juan Lodge and HRM Function Hall, the gathering reaffirmed LORMA Colleges’ commitment to principled leadership, institutional growth, and collective responsibility. LORMA Colleges officially welcomed its partner institution, Busan Kyungsang College of South Korea, during their visit on February 4, 2026. The delegation was warmly received by the LORMA Colleges Leadership Team led by Dr. Amelia Vicente, Director of the Global Partnerships and Languages Offices, together with Dean Jeff Layco of the College of Computer Studies and Engineering, alongside Lormanian students, faculty, and staff, marking a meaningful moment of academic and cultural exchange.

The visit set the stage for deeper collaboration as the delegation prepared to engage with participants of the 2nd International Animation Festival, held on February 5–6, 2026, at the LORMA Colleges San Juan, La Union Campus. The gathering celebrated creativity, innovation, and cross-cultural storytelling, providing a platform for students and educators to learn from global perspectives in animation and digital arts.


This partnership reflected LORMA Colleges’ continued commitment to internationalization, collaborative learning, and global engagement. By fostering strong academic alliances and shared creative initiatives, LORMA advanced opportunities that prepared Lormanians to thrive in an interconnected world while strengthening institutional growth and global stewardship.

Day 1 of the 2nd International Animation Festival officially kicked off on February 5, 2026, bringing together LORMA Colleges faculty and students for a full day of learning, dialogue, and global insight. The morning session, held at the HRM Function Hall, featured a faculty seminar led by Prof. Kim Hyoungkeon of Woosung University, South Korea, with the talk “Improving Work Using AI,” offering timely perspectives on how artificial intelligence is reshaping productivity, creativity, and professional practice in education and industry.

In the afternoon, the energy shifted to the CLI Learning Commons as students took part in an engaging seminar titled “The Singularity is Coming. What Is My Future?” also delivered by Prof. Kim. The session encouraged learners to reflect on emerging technologies, future careers, and the evolving role of creativity and innovation in a rapidly changing world, reinforcing future-ready thinking among Lormanian students.


Complementing the seminars, an International Student Admissions Information Session was conducted for Lormanian Senior High School students, led by Prof. Han Sanghoon, Deputy Director for International Exchange of Busan Kyungsang College. The session introduced international programs and study opportunities, followed by an open forum, further strengthening academic pathways and global partnerships aligned with LORMA Colleges’ commitment to internationalization and innovation.

Day 2 of the 2nd International Animation Festival on February 6, 2026, marked a vibrant and successful celebration of creativity, collaboration, and global learning. The day began with the Memorandum Renewal of LORMA Colleges and Busan Kyungsang College for the Agreement on the Joint Operation of an International Animation Festival, reaffirming both institutions’ shared commitment to sustained global academic partnership and creative exchange. This was followed by an overview of the festival led by Dr. Amelia N. Vicente, LPT, Director of the Global Educational Partnerships Office, and inspiring messages from the presidents of LORMA Colleges, Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba, and Busan Kyungsang College, Dr. Han Baek-yong, highlighting the unified vision behind this international collaboration.

The day began with the Memorandum of Renewal, followed by the competition proper, where our Korean delegates also showcased their creativity and skills in the creative field.

The festival continued with the introduction of forum tracks and the schedule overview by Mr. Joffrey B. Layco, MIS, Dean of the College of Computer Studies and Engineering. This was followed by the presentation of plenary judges, discussion of guidelines and criteria, and the much-anticipated competition proper featuring 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Digital Storytelling, and Digital Illustration, where participants showcased creativity, technical skill, and storytelling excellence.


The day concluded with the awarding of certificates to participating schools, partner institutions, and sponsors, including LORMA Colleges, University of Northern Philippines, La Union College of Science and Technology, Don Eulogio De Guzman Memorial National High School, ASSAT Christian School, Inc., La Union National High School, Saint Augustine’s School, Urdaneta City University, and Panpacific University. This was followed by the highly anticipated awarding of winners, formally closing a successful festival that strengthened creative exchange, academic partnerships, and the global animation community. On February 11, 2026, LORMA Colleges celebrated a meaningful milestone through the MOA Signing and Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Reading Facility at Arosip Elementary School. This initiative signifies a united step toward strengthening foundational literacy and creating a nurturing environment where young learners can thrive.

Together with the Arosip PTA, the Barangay Council, and the Municipal LGU, this shared commitment paves the way for stronger literacy foundations built on sustainability and community responsibility.

Breathing Excellence: LORMA Among the Nation’s Top in the February 2026 Respiratory Therapist Licensure Examination


LORMA Colleges proudly celebrated being recognized as one of the Top 4 Performing Schools nationwide in the February 2026 Respiratory Therapist Licensure Examination, producing 36 new Lormanian Respiratory Therapists whose success reflected excellence, dedication, and quality education; leading this achievement was Ezra Miryana Q. Misajon, who secured a place among the Top 8 Topnotchers, inspiring the entire Lormanian community to pursue greater heights in healthcare service. This milestone embodied Lormanian Success through academic distinction, strengthened the Culture of Wellbeing by preparing compassionate and competent professionals, advanced Global Impact & Stewardship through responsive healthcare service, and reinforced Institutional Sustainability & Growth through sustained board performance and academic excellence.

As the year 2026 began, NSTP students carried forward a strong spirit of volunteerism through their continued engagement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, translating civic education into meaningful community action. On January 29, 2026, representatives from BMLS 1–3 and BSN 2–3 conducted a coordination meeting with the Bacnotan SPED Center coordinator to plan and organize upcoming student-led initiatives for learners with special needs. The discussion centered on ensuring smooth implementation of meaningful activities that support educational and developmental growth. This collaboration reflects the students’ dedication to inclusive service, compassionate leadership, and community engagement—living out LORMA Colleges’ mission to create impact through purposeful action.

On January 31, 2026, representatives from BMLS 1–4 conducted a coordination meeting with officials of Brgy. Cabaroan, San Juan to plan and align upcoming community projects with the needs of the barangay, reinforcing the students’ active role in civic engagement, collaborative leadership, and meaningful service that strengthens partnerships between LORMA Colleges and local communities.

The College of Pharmacy at LORMA Colleges proudly honors the first batch of 4th-year BS Pharmacy interns who successfully completed their hands-on training in Industrial Pharmacy at Allied Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Inc. (APLI) as of February 6, 2026. Among 80 interns from three institutions, four LORMANIANS distinguished themselves in the Top 10 Best Interns, showcasing their professionalism, competence, and commitment to healthcare excellence. This achievement reflects LORMA’s dedication to cultivating future leaders in pharmaceutical practice while advancing sustainable health and innovation. We extend our deepest gratitude to APLI and our preceptors for their invaluable mentorship and partnership in empowering the next generation of pharmacists.

Advancing Molecular Excellence: RAINPHIL PCR Seminar-Workshop for CMLS


RAINPHIL conducted a comprehensive seminar-workshop for CMLS instructors and staff, focusing on the core principles and practical applications of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). The morning session explored the molecular biology workflow, PCR kits, and system specifications, laying a strong theoretical foundation, while the afternoon session emphasized hands-on training—from DNA extraction and PCR amplification to gel electrophoresis and proper result documentation. This initiative strengthened the quality of Molecular Biology laboratory instruction by integrating updated techniques, enhancing technical competence, and promoting standardized, best-practice workflows that uphold excellence in laboratory education and research.

Earn, Save, Grow: NSTP Champions Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurial Mindset


The NSTP Office successfully conducted the Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Training titled “Earn, Save, Grow: A Guide to Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship” on February 7, 2026, at the CHS Pavilion, engaging more than 300 students from various courses in a dynamic learning experience focused on financial responsibility and enterprise development. Led by Ms. Avigail Candelario of the College of Business, the session highlighted income management, savings discipline, smart spending, and the value of cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset early on, equipping students with practical life skills for personal growth, financial independence, and career readiness. This initiative strengthened holistic student formation and civic responsibility, reflecting LORMA Colleges’ commitment to empowering financially responsible and socially productive citizens.

SML Launches “Project S.A.F.E.” Outreach for Girls


Guided by the theme “Project S.A.F.E.” (Support, Awareness, Healing, and Empowerment), the Sangguniang Mag-aaral ng Lorma led an outreach program at the DSWD FO1 Home for Girls in Agoo, La Union on February 12, promoting hygiene, health awareness, and self-care within a safe and supportive learning environment. The initiative featured wellness activities, structured teaching sessions on proper handwashing and menstrual health, interactive discussions, art expression through “Who I Want to Become?”, and the distribution of hygiene kits and snacks. Through this meaningful engagement, SML strengthened its student-led commitment to inclusive service, empowerment, and compassionate community involvement—reflecting LORMA Colleges’ dedication to holistic development and purposeful impact.
