A Home for Peace, A Haven for Growth

This issue shines a gentle light on Lorma Colleges’ Peace Week 2025, where harmony, compassion, and understanding filled our campuses. We also mark the Mass Induction of student leaders, a celebration of dedication and service as they take on new roles with purpose. Beyond these milestones, we share glimpses of how our community continues to flourish—from wellness activities and departmental celebrations to alumni journeys and student achievements. Subtle but meaningful moments, like planting trees and gathering for cultural exchange, remind us of the strength found in unity and care for one another.

Peace in Action: Lormanians Living Peace, Kindness, and Unity

Peace Week Celebration 2025
Peace Week Celebration 2025

LORMA Colleges celebrated Peace Week 2025 with the theme Peace in Action, transforming campuses into spaces where harmony, kindness, and unity thrived. From the Basic and Inclusive Education to Higher Education, each activity carried the message that peace begins in small yet meaningful ways, reminding us that every act of kindness is a seed of hope.

At the Basic and Inclusive Education Schools, young learners painted peace in vibrant colors through taPEACEtry and Peace Prints on Pavement, leaving behind handprints and reflections that symbolized harmony. Storytelling sessions and Peaceflix viewings encouraged students to embrace peace through inspiring stories, while friendship bracelet exchanges nurtured bonds of compassion and unity among peers.

Meanwhile, High School students led the way with their P.E.A.C.E. campaign, creating posters, slogans, and discussions that promoted peace in school and in the wider community. Guided reflections by the Guidance and Counseling Office, along with insights from Pastor John Stephen Gois, helped them discover how peace is lived daily—through respect, empathy, and understanding.

At the Higher Education campuses, peace resonated through symbolic and reflective activities. The Light of Peace Candle Lighting Ceremony and Peace Pledge reminded students that peace begins with a single flame, shared and multiplied through community. Students also engaged in Peace in Every Breath – Inhale Calm, Exhale Kindness, a mindful activity that emphasized how inner peace flows outward into words and actions. Alongside these, creative reflections like The Harmony Tree, Fruit of My Peace, and Mission: PeacePossible inspired Lormanians to embrace peace not just in thought, but in action.

Across all campuses, Peace Week became more than a celebration—it was a living movement. Through creativity, collaboration, and reflection, Lormanians showed that peace is not only possible but powerful when practiced every day. Together, they proved that harmony can begin with a breath, grow in a gesture, and flourish in a community committed to kindness.
