August arrived with changing skies—some days bright, some cloudy, and some marked by rain. Yet through every kind of weather, the LORMA community continued to move forward. This month brought new beginnings, meaningful milestones, professional growth, academic achievements, community service, and stories that reminded us that even beneath grey skies, there is always something worth celebrating. From welcoming new Lormanians to honoring accomplishments, strengthening partnerships, empowering educators, and preparing future professionals, August became a month of purpose, progress, and Lormanian pride.

The 2nd Completion and Graduation Rites of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) of LORMA Colleges was held at the LORMA Colleges Pavilion in the City of San Fernando, La Union, bringing together the NSTP Class of 2026 for a meaningful celebration of service, commitment, and community engagement. The ceremony formally recognized the students' completion of the program and the values they gained through their NSTP experience.
The rites featured messages from Edwin C. Cancino, PhD, President of LORMA Colleges Inc., and Mr. Kanji Domon, Volunteer of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker. The program also included the confirmation and acceptance of graduates, awarding of certificates, NSTP Merit and Recognition Awards, and testimonial messages from Louie Jaydenn Viluan, NSTP Class of 2026, and Ms. May Gonzales, Community Partner. The ceremony culminated in the students' Pledge of Commitment, reaffirming their responsibility to carry the spirit of service beyond the classroom.
As the NSTP Class of 2026 steps forward, their completion marks not an ending but a continuing commitment to serve with compassion, responsibility, and purpose. May the lessons of service and citizenship they gained become a foundation for meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.

On August 4, 2026, the LORMA Colleges Research Institute brought together members of the academic community for A Seminar on Effective Advising and Paneling (Part 2), themed “Enhancing Research Mentorship: A Framework for Effective Research Advising and Paneling.” The session provided a valuable space for participants to deepen their understanding of effective research guidance and strengthen the practices that support meaningful academic inquiry.
The seminar featured Prof. Ryan Dean T. Sucgang, Member of the Regional Ethics Monitoring Board-I, whose engaging and thought-provoking discussion encouraged participants to look at research mentorship from new perspectives. Despite the rainy weather, the workshop remained lively and collaborative as participants worked closely with their groups to develop insightful worksheet outputs and translate key concepts into practical applications.
The LORMA Colleges Research Institute extends its appreciation to the resource speaker, participants, library staff, deans, research committees, IT staff, maintenance and cleaning crew, and everyone who contributed to the success of the seminar-workshop. Together, these efforts strengthen a culture of research excellence where knowledge is shared, mentorship is nurtured, and insights are transformed into action.

The College of Inclusive Education welcomed full-time and part-time faculty members from General Education (GenEd) and CIE-BNED for TEACH FORWARD 2026, a whole-day training and workshop held on August 25, 2026, at the Audio-Visual Room of the Basic and Inclusive Education Schools, LORMA Colleges – San Juan Campus. With the theme, “Teach Anywhere, Assess Anywhere: Integrating LMS, Flexible Delivery, and Online Assessment in College Teaching,” the training focused on strengthening educators' readiness for evolving learning environments.
Through hands-on discussions and activities, LORMAnian educators gained practical skills in LMS integration, HyFlex teaching, and synchronous and asynchronous online assessment. The session provided opportunities to explore strategies that make instruction more adaptive, accessible, and responsive to the diverse needs of today's learners.
TEACH FORWARD 2026 reflects LORMA Colleges' continued commitment to empowering educators with relevant knowledge and innovative teaching practices. By equipping faculty to teach and assess beyond traditional boundaries, LORMA continues to cultivate a future-ready academic community.

Our newest Lormanians officially began their journey as freshmen and transferees gathered at the LORMA Colleges Pavilion on August 14 for the General Orientation for AY 2026–2027. More than an introduction to campus life, the gathering marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities to learn, connect, and grow within the LORMA community.
Through the orientation, students were introduced to essential school policies and procedures, rules and regulations, academic expectations, and other important matters that will help guide them throughout their college experience. The session provided a foundation for students to navigate their new environment with greater confidence, responsibility, and a clearer sense of what it means to be a Lormanian.
As they take their first steps into the academic year, may our freshmen and transferees find not only a place to learn, but a community where they can belong, flourish, and pursue their aspirations with purpose. Welcome to LORMA Colleges, where every beginning holds the possibility of becoming something greater.

Rain or shine, the commitment to learning skills that can save lives continues. BS Radiologic Technology students pushed through the pouring rain to complete their Basic Life Support (BLS) Training in partnership with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of the Provincial Government of La Union.
The training provided students with essential knowledge and hands-on skills in responding to life-threatening emergencies, strengthening their readiness for situations that demand calm, competence, and decisive action. More than completing a training requirement, the experience reflected the discipline and determination needed in the healthcare profession.
Even beneath grey skies, these future healthcare professionals showed that dedication does not wait for perfect conditions. Through continued learning, resilience, and purposeful preparation, LORMA students move closer to becoming professionals ready to serve and protect lives with competence and compassion.

Bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026, binigyang-buhay ng mga mag-aaral ng Basic and Inclusive Education Schools ang mga tradisyunal na Laro ng Lahi noong August 27, 2026. Isinagawa ang mga gawain mula 8:00 AM–10:00 AM para sa Preschool hanggang Grade 3 at 2:00 PM–4:00 PM para sa Grades 4–6, sa lugar sa tabi ng canteen o sa harapan ng Grade School at High School buildings.
Sa pamamagitan ng mga larong kinagisnan, muling nakilala ng mga mag-aaral ang mga tradisyong Pilipino habang nakikilahok sa mga gawaing humuhubog sa teamwork, pakikipagkapwa, disiplina, at aktibong pakikilahok. Higit pa sa saya at paligsahan, ang Laro ng Lahi ay nagsilbing tulay upang maipasa sa bagong henerasyon ang mga larong bahagi ng ating kultura at pagkakakilanlan.
Sa bawat takbuhan, tawanan, at sama-samang laro, patuloy na nabubuhay ang kulturang Pilipino. Sa LORMA, ang pagkatuto ay hindi lamang nangyayari sa loob ng silid-aralan—minsan, ito ay natututuhan din sa paglalaro, pakikipagkaibigan, at pagpapahalaga sa sariling wika at kultura. Sa Laro ng Lahi, ang ating kultura ay patuloy na nilalaro, ipinagmamalaki, at ipinapasa.

LORMA Colleges proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of its Lormanians across generations. Congratulations to Jacus S. Nacis, RMT, MBA, Lormanian Medical Laboratory Scientist, Batch 2005 and Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) National Finalist 2005, on his appointment as Director IV of the Department of Science and Technology–Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI). We also honor our Basic and Inclusive Education Schools alumnae Krista Mae F. Ramos and Jm Pauline Olea, both BIES Batch 2022 and Summa Cum Laude graduates of Saint Louis University, for their outstanding academic excellence.
We likewise extend our congratulations to Zairylle Trixie Nicole C. Garcinez, Sophia Marie O. Gamboa, and Cloie September S. Lang-ay, all BIES Batch 2022 and Cum Laude graduates of Saint Louis College. Adding to this celebration is Anita Oluwakemi Ladipo, USRN, Lormanian BS Nursing Batch 2025 and former Vice President of the International Student Organization for SY 2024–2025, for successfully passing the NCLEX-RN for New York State and taking another significant step toward her professional journey.
These milestones reflect the enduring excellence of Lormanians who continue to lead, serve, and excel in their chosen fields. From advancing science and public service to achieving academic distinction and earning professional credentials abroad, their accomplishments inspire the LORMA community.

BSESS Program Holds Exploratory Meeting with Anytime Fitness for Industry
The Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences (BSESS), major in Fitness and Sports Management, under the College of Physical Therapy of LORMA Colleges, recently met with representatives from Anytime Fitness to explore potential opportunities for industry immersion. The preliminary discussion highlighted possible collaborations in student deployment, experiential learning, mentorship, and structured training, creating pathways for students to connect academic learning with real-world practice and gain valuable industry experience. Through meaningful partnerships with industry, LORMA continues to prepare future exercise and sports professionals with stronger competencies, broader perspectives, and career-ready skills.
From Knowledge to Practice: LORMA Pharmacists in the Making
The LORMA Colleges College of Pharmacy has begun its Experiential Pharmacy Practice (EPP) for the First Semester of AY 2026–2027, providing fourth-year BS Pharmacy students with opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in actual practice settings across institutional, public health and regulatory, and community pharmacy. With the guidance of partner Host Training Establishments and dedicated preceptors, our future Lormanian Pharmacists are strengthening their professional competencies, gaining meaningful hands-on experience, and deepening their commitment to patient and community health. Through learning by practice and growing through service, LORMA continues to prepare competent, compassionate, and career-ready healthcare professionals.
15 Years, Countless Lives: LORMA Honored for a Legacy of Lifesaving Service
LORMA Colleges, through the LORMA Colleges Red Cross Youth Council (LC-RCYC) and the College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS), was inducted into the PRC–La Union Hall of Fame and received a Testimonial Plaque during the Blood Donor’s Recognition Program on August 20, 2026, at Hotel Ariana, Paringao, Bauang, La Union. The recognition honors more than 15 years of unwavering commitment to voluntary blood donation, with LORMA contributing approximately 600,000 cc of blood toward saving lives across the province. Held in observance of World Humanitarian Day 2026, this milestone celebrates a lasting culture of service, compassion, and humanitarian action that continues to make a meaningful difference in the community.

Beyond the Prescription: Pharmacy Interns Prepare to Save Lives
The LORMA Colleges College of Pharmacy conducted a two-day Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for its fourth-year BS Pharmacy student interns on August 13–14, 2026, at Founders’ Hall, Carlatan Campus, equipping future pharmacists with essential knowledge and hands-on skills for responding to life-threatening emergencies. Facilitated by the Department of Health–Health Emergency Management Bureau (DOH-HEMB) and skilled BLS instructors from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of the City of San Fernando, La Union, the training strengthened the interns’ experiential preparation and outcomes-based competencies while reinforcing the importance of safety and responsible healthcare practice. More than learning about medicines, future pharmacists are being prepared to respond with competence, confidence, and care when it matters most.
