As we bid farewell to March, we reflect on a month filled with unforgettable moments and meaningful connections. From the vibrant flotilla parade and the grand ribbon-cutting ceremony of our new admin building to the elegant Emerald Foundation Gala honoring our valued partners — every event was a celebration of unity and progress. The Panagsubli 2025 Alumni Homecoming brought Lormanians together in a heartfelt reunion, while Lormanians Day fostered joy and camaraderie among students, faculty, and staff. We also marked a significant milestone with the signing ceremony alongside Interactions for Peace, reaffirming our commitment to promoting harmony and collaboration. Adding to the experience, inspiring and educational talks from our esteemed delegates left a lasting impact.

Sailing Together: Honoring LORMA’s Legacy at the Emerald Flotilla Parade


In celebration of LORMA Colleges' 55th Foundation Anniversary, the Emerald Flotilla Parade set sail on March 21, 2025, from Carlatan Bridge, City of San Fernando, to Mebuyan, San Juan Beach, and back. The vibrant procession of decorated boats and floats symbolized the institution's rich heritage and unity. The day began with a heartfelt morning devotion, followed by a shared breakfast among flotilla teams.

As the boats set sail, the LORMA Ensemble graced the moment with a heartfelt rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as a send-off song. During the wait for the boats' return at Mebuyan and Carlatan Bridge, faculty, staff, and personnel demonstrated their commitment to the environment through a coastal cleaning activity. Upon the flotilla’s return, the LORMA Ensemble once again performed, this time singing “Here Comes the Sun” to warmly welcome the teams back.

The celebration concluded with warm appreciation for the respective individuals who played a role in making the event a success, leaving everyone with cherished memories of unity and gratitude.


LORMA’s Legacy Grows: Celebrating the New Admin Building


Following the vibrant Emerald Flotilla Parade, the celebration continued with the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new admin building. The event began with a heartfelt expression of gratitude for the land at the Campus for Health Sciences Quadrangle. Ma'am Ellen Mae P. Abiqui, Academic Executive Director of the CHS Campus and Dean of the College of Pharmacy, warmly welcomed esteemed partners, faculty, personnel, and staff.

As part of the tradition, a symbolic Dita Tree Planting ceremony took place in the quadrangle, led by the academic deans and Mr. Ramon 'Toby' L. Tamayo, consultant of the Heritage Arboretum — a meaningful gesture representing growth and new beginnings. Adding to the celebration, the LORMA Sanduli Dance Troupe showcased their talents through a traditional cultural dance, honoring the heritage of the land.  


The ceremony continued with a welcome and gratitude message from Engineer Andrew Cesar Rimando, Director of Facilities, Environment & Sustainability (FESO), followed by inspiring words from Architect Gene Flancia. To recognize the efforts behind the construction of the new admin building, Engineer Andrew Cesar Rimando and Engineer Jan Marie Catbagan, alongside Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba, President of LORMA Colleges, Inc., expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Building Team.

Honored for their dedication and contributions were Mr. Jessan R. Nardo (Lead Technician, RNO), Mr. Dante J. Omolida (Foreman/Installer, ILAO), Mr. Jimmy S. Mariñas Jr. (Solar Installer, Oasis Powerhouse), Mr. Jay-r Delos Santos Buere (Decors & Design Worker), Mr. Eduardo B. Oredina (Leadman/Mason, Mobarde), Mr. John Rey M. Carig (Supervisor/Driver and Purchaser), Mr. Norman B. Bravo (All Around Skill Worker, JP Tamayo), Mr. Joel V. Zenarosa (Technical Support Specialist, Schindler), Mr. Mark Ernest M. Galido (Installer/Driver, BMM Windows), and Mr. John Rey Corpuz (April Joy Home Decors & Furnitures). 


Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba then shared her gratitude message, followed by the dedication prayers led by Pastor John Stephen Gois, the school chaplain, and Wail Abdullah Baggash Al-Hemyari, a third-year Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy student.

The momentous ribbon-cutting ceremony, headed by Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba and Chairman Emeritus Dr. Rufino L. Macagba Jr., followed. The event concluded as esteemed guests, faculty, staff, and personnel toured the new administration building of LORMA Colleges Carlatan Campus, celebrating this milestone of growth and progress.


Emerald Gala Awards 2025: Honoring Partnerships and Gratitude


Held at Thunderbird Resorts - Poro Point, City of San Fernando, La Union, on March 22, 2025, the Emerald Gala Awards celebrated LORMA Colleges' 55th Emerald Foundation Anniversary. The event honored Campus Builders, College Consultants, Community Partners, and Global Partners for their invaluable contributions. The day commenced with a prayer by School Chaplain Pastor John Stephen Gois, followed by the National Anthem and a heartfelt new rendition of the Lorma Hymn. Mrs. Elizabeth S. Paredes, Director of Personnel Services and Administration, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests, and the LORMA Colleges Sanduli Dance Troupe captivated the audience with a cultural dance performance.


Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba, President of LORMA Colleges, Inc., also shared an inspiring message for the event, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Emerald Awardees for their dedication and support in contributing to the institution's growth and success.

A Gift to the Community, the Carlatan Heritage Book, was presented to the Barangay Captain of Carlatan, Mrs. Lily A. Almazan by Dr. Bernardo B. Tayaban Jr., Dr. Amelia N. Vicente, and Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba.


To conclude the day, the LORMA Colleges Ensemble and the Leadership Team performed "Heal the World," with guests joining in, celebrating a moment of unity and gratitude.

Together Again: A Joyful LORMAnian Reunion


On March 15, 2025, LORMA Colleges welcomed alumni back to the Center for Health Sciences Campus for Panagsubli 2025, celebrating the theme "Reunite, Relive, Reconnect: Celebrating Memories, Creating New Ones!" As part of the 55th Emerald Foundation Anniversary, the event began with heartfelt messages from Mr. Maverick Kaypee A. Colet, President of the Lormanian Network, Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba, President of LORMA Colleges, Inc., and Dr. Rufino L. Macagba Jr., Chairman Emeritus.

The celebration was filled with vibrant performances from various departments, joyful reunions, and a special tribute to the Jubilarians of Batch 1975, with a gratitude message from Mrs. Melba Manuel Velasco. Mrs. Marina Gomez also shared her LORMemories, reminiscing and sharing her story.


The day concluded with an awards ceremony, a wine toast led by Mrs. Pacita D. Apilado, the election of new officers, a community song by the LORMA Colleges Chorale, and closing remarks by Mr. Jess M. Pajimola, PRO of the Lormanian Alumni Network.

Throughout the event, participants showcased their talents and competitive spirit in activities like Moves and Grooves, the LORMA Quiz Bee, Find the Emeralds, LORMA’s Got Talent, and the vibrant Lormart Trade Fair Caravan. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, cheers, and an undeniable sense of camaraderie.


The celebration concluded with a heartfelt awarding ceremony, recognizing the outstanding performances and achievements of the participants. LORMAnian Day 2025 was a joyful tribute to the unity and pride that define the Lormanian spirit.


Empowering Minds with AI: Generative Artificial Intelligence Lecture Series


A lecture series titled "Generative Artificial Intelligence for Faculty and Staff" was held at the Campus for Learning and Innovation in Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union on March 24, 2025, as part of the Emerald Foundation Anniversary celebrations of LORMA Colleges. Led by Dr. Chung Woon-Pyo, Director of the Woosung University IT Center, South Korea, the event welcomed students in the morning and faculty and staff in the afternoon.

The event concluded with the awarding of appreciation to the Korean delegates from the Woosung University IT Center and the faculty and staff participants. A special gift was also presented by Dr. Chung Woon-Pyo to Dr. Carol Lynn R. Macagba, President of LORMA Colleges, Inc.


LORMA Colleges and Interactions for Peace: Fostering Understanding and Collaboration


At LORMA Colleges on March 26, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed with Interactions for Peace, solidifying their shared commitment to promoting harmony and open communication.

In the days leading up to the signing, interactive sessions were held on March 24 and 25. On the first day, 20 junior patrollers from grade school and 20 senior patrollers from high school engaged in meaningful discussions on peaceful leadership and conflict resolution, guided by Interactions for Peace speaker Mr. Sean Chumbley. The next day, all psychology students of LORMA Colleges took part in an insightful session with speakers Mr. Sean Chumbley and Ms. Kimberly Stricker, further deepening their understanding of community peacebuilding.


This partnership represents a significant step toward fostering a culture of peace and collaboration within the LORMA Colleges community.
