A Month of Peace, Purpose, and Lormanian Pride

September arrived with a call to pause, breathe, and choose peace. Through every kind of season, the LORMA community continued to move forward with calm and purpose. This month brought hard-earned milestones, professional growth, inspiring alumni stories, empowered student leaders, and the proud news of our newly licensed Lormanian professionals, including our two topnotchers, whose excellence reminded us that true achievement grows from perseverance, faith, and a peaceful heart. From celebrating new nurses and licensed professionals to installing new leaders and honoring those who make us proud, September became a month of peace, purpose, and Lormanian pride.

LORMA Colleges proudly congratulates its 349 newest Lormanian nurses, who passed the August 2026 Nursing Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The College of Nursing posted an impressive 86.57% passing rate among first-time takers, well above the 76.69% national passing rate for the same category. The college's overall passing rate, which includes repeaters, stood at 78.60%, also surpassing the national average.
Adding to the celebration, two Lormanian examinees placed among the country's top-performing nurses. Lee Chen P. Ducusin ranked 3rd, while Gabriel Alfonso C. Alcid placed 6th nationwide, a proud achievement not only for the two examinees but for the entire LORMA community.
In line with this remarkable feat, LORMA Colleges held a special recognition program on September 28, 2026, at the CHS Campus, where the two topnotchers were awarded plaques of recognition for their outstanding performance. During the program, they shared heartfelt words of gratitude to their families, mentors, and the institution, along with valuable tips and encouragement for current nursing students on how to succeed in the board exam.
These results reflect the dedication of LORMA's nursing students, faculty, and clinical instructors in upholding excellence in nursing education. LORMA Colleges proudly congratulates its 12 newest Lormanian psychometricians, who passed the September 2026 Psychometrician Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The College of Psychology posted an impressive 91.67% passing rate among first-time takers, with an overall passing rate of 85.71%, a strong showing that reflects the quality of instruction and training provided by the college.
Psychometricians play a vital role in promoting mental health and wellness, helping individuals understand themselves better through psychological assessment and guidance. In a world where mental health awareness matters now more than ever, our newest Lormanian psychometricians are ready to bring compassion, understanding, and healing to the communities they will serve.
To our new licensed psychometricians, congratulations on this well-deserved achievement! Students from LORMA Colleges took part in a community-wide coastal cleanup in San Juan, La Union on September 19, 2026, joining various local sectors and organizations in celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day, led by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) and the Tourism Office.
Through their active participation, our Lormanians helped collect and segregate a share of the 21 sacks of waste weighing 155.27 kilograms gathered that day, a meaningful hands-on experience in environmental stewardship and a reflection of LORMA's commitment to raising socially responsible, community-minded learners.
LORMA Colleges has formalized its commitment to holistic student and employee wellness with the signing of Mr. Angelo Dorotan as the institution's official Retainer Psychologist. Mr. Dorotan will be available every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, to provide professional psychological support and counseling services to the LORMA community.
This partnership reinforces LORMA Colleges' dedication to fostering a healthier, more supportive campus environment where mental wellbeing is treated as integral to academic and institutional success.

LA UNION, Philippines – LORMA Colleges has earned international recognition in the 2026 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, the global assessment of university commitment to environmental sustainability.
LORMA Colleges was counted among 102 higher education institutions in the Philippines, 926 institutions in Asia, and 1,498 institutions worldwide that took part in this year's rankings.
The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, carrying the theme "Advancing Sustainability for Earth," is an annual initiative of Universitas Indonesia. It evaluates universities on their sustainability efforts and policies, including green infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water usage, transportation, and education and research on sustainability.
The recognition reflects LORMA Colleges' continuing efforts to build a campus community that cares for the environment, through its Carlatan and San Juan campuses in La Union.

Pammadayaw: Lormanian Excellence Beyond Borders
LORMA Colleges celebrates the achievements of its graduates through Pammadayaw, a series that pays tribute to Lormanian professionals who have made the institution proud. The latest features highlight two alumni who have excelled in their fields, in the country and abroad.
Cristen Lei Daligues Tolentino is a proud product of the Lormanian Basic and Inclusive Education Schools, Class of 2022. She went on to graduate cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the Far Eastern University Institute of Technology (FEU Tech).
Iris Jane H. Amado, RRT, a Lormanian graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology, Class of 2016, is now a United Kingdom Licensed Radiographer. She also earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound from Birmingham City University.
Their stories reflect the strong foundation LORMA Colleges provides, from basic education to professional programs. Through Pammadayaw, the institution expresses its gratitude to alumni whose success inspires current students and the wider Lormanian community.

A new generation of young Lormanian leaders is ready to listen, lead, and serve! LORMA Grade School proudly introduces its newly elected Supreme Pupil Government officers and grade representatives for the school year 2026-2027.
The newly elected officers include a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Public Information Officer, and Peace Officer, together with grade representatives from Grade 1 to Grade 6, all guided by their adviser.

Medtech Week 2026
LORMA Colleges proudly celebrated Medtech Week 2026, honoring the dedication and passion of its future medical laboratory scientists who work behind the scenes with precision and purpose, making a difference in every life they touch.

College of Pharmacy Joins "A Race for Affordable Health" in Celebration of Generics Awareness Month
The LORMA Colleges College of Pharmacy joined the DOH Ilocos Center for Health Development in celebrating Generics Awareness Month 2026 in Bacnotan, La Union, with the theme "Kalusugan ng Bawat Pilipino, Generics ang Katuwang Mo."
Eight Batch 1 Pharmacy Interns, together with one faculty member, took part in the Fun Run and Bike Event, promoting generic medicines as a safe, effective, and affordable choice for every Filipino.
This is a proud moment for our future pharmacists as they step beyond the classroom to promote accessible healthcare in the community, living out the Lormanian spirit of service and compassion. Congratulations to our Batch 1 Pharmacy Interns and mentor for representing LORMA Colleges so well!
Research Team Earns Poster Presentation at PASMETH Research Competition 2026
A research entry from LORMA Colleges, "Screening of Kidney Dysfunction and its Associated Risk Factors Among Public School Learners of the City of San Fernando, La Union," has been accepted for mural (poster) presentation at the PASMETH Research Competition 2026 after passing the Scientific Committee's evaluation.
The research team will showcase their findings following the event's presentation guidelines, with registration due on September 25, 2026. This achievement highlights the strong research culture being nurtured among Lormanians, especially in advancing community health and addressing pressing public health concerns among the youth. Lormanian Leaders Take Oath in Induction Ceremony
LORMA Campus for Health Sciences, La Union – LORMA Colleges held the Lormanian Leaders Induction and Oath Taking on September 29, 2026, from 1:30 to 4:30 PM at the LORMA Campus for Health Sciences Pavilion. The ceremony formally welcomed the newly elected officers of the college's student body organizations and interest clubs.
Held under the theme "Leading with purpose, serving with heart: Empowering LORMA Leaders for Excellence," the program was organized in partnership with the student body organizations and interest clubs of the participating departments. The student leaders raised their right hands and pledged to uphold their responsibilities and serve the Lormanian community with integrity and dedication.
The guest speaker was Joanne Carol L. Lim, a Lormanian alumna of the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA), Batch 2020. She shared her insights and encouraged the leaders to lead with purpose and serve with heart.
The event highlighted LORMA Colleges' commitment to developing student leaders who will contribute to the growth of the institution and the wider community.
Stepping Into the Business of Becoming
As part of the City Government of San Fernando, La Union's Disability Summit on Inclusive Governance, LORMA Colleges, Inc. and the City Government formalized their partnership today, September 29, 2026, through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Program for Persons with Disabilities. Held at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center, the signing was attended by City Mayor Hermenegildo "Dong" A. Gualberto and Councilor Dr. Lilibeth G. Hipol, and follows City Resolution No. 26-506. CBR is a community development strategy that aims to include, rehabilitate, and equalize opportunities for PWDs, guided by five key areas: health, livelihood, education, empowerment, and social inclusion.
Representing LORMA Colleges were Dir. Bernard Tayaban, Community Extension Services & NSTP Director; Dr. Kaypee Colet, Dean of the College of Physical Therapy; Dir. Beth Camara, Director of Basic & Inclusive Education; Ma'am Marites Pagdilao, Research Institute & Graduate Program Development Chair; and Lorielainne Mae Romero-Gapuz, OIC Dean of the College of Psychology. Over the next three years, LORMA will contribute its expertise in rehabilitation, inclusive education, psychological wellness, research, and adaptive sports, supporting the city's focus on education, health, and disaster risk reduction and management. Together, LORMA and the City are working toward a San Fernando where every person is supported to reach their full potential.

As September comes to a close, we look back on a month that invited us to pause, reflect, and choose peace. Peace Consciousness Month reminded us that peace is not only the absence of conflict, but the presence of kindness, understanding, and care for one another. It showed in every milestone celebrated, every alumnus who made us proud, every new leader who took an oath to serve, and every Lormanian who chose compassion in words and in actions.
Here's to carrying that peace beyond September, in our classrooms, in our communities, and in everything we do.
